Four women by the sea — dancing, floating, resting, playing. Their bodies are round, full, free. They claim the space with ease, without excuses. Their looks are absent or euphoric, never questioning. They are just there. But for every body there is a silhouette. Again and again a black shape, staring. Sometimes man, sometimes woman — always spectator, always out of the picture. Or rather: portrayed as a spectator. How does an image change as soon as there is a silhouette next to it?  This series reverses the roles: it is not the bodies that are being watched, but the viewer himself who is portrayed, made visible. What are we allowed to see? What do we think of that? And where does that judgment come from? In a culture that controls, idealizes and disapproves of women's bodies, these figures show something unusual: physical freedom without shame. And that clashes — not with themselves, but with us.
